In a unexpected partnership that defies conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "An unusual meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden group.

The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Changes

The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Bonus Content

Players who finish the quest will acquire an unique katana together with several objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Unique arms
• Survey Corps mount

Latest Free Story Addition

This release also brings the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime series. The series formerly showcased a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
